Special Grade Temple of Heaven Gunpowder Green

The average rating for this product is 4.5 out of 5 stars 15 Reviews
This high-grade Gunpowder tea is rich and full-bodied with a pronounced sweetness. A hint of tobacco complements the herbaceous flavor and lingers into the finish.

This tea is the perfect choice to enjoy with a spoonful of our Tupelo Honey.

Very strong and smokey
This shopper rated the product 5 out of 5 stars

It's nearly 2024, and I've been drinking this ZG30 faithfully since 2009! I have never grown tired of how incredibly bold and smokey this tea is, and I drink it whenever I'm ready for a strong cup. I've served it to others in the past; all have been wowed, and for some it's too strong! It can stand up to long steep times without going bitter, but it can tend to dry my mouth out afterwards if I oversteep.

An afternoon favorite while working

My impression is that this is a milder green tea, that seems less sharp that the Gunpowder I have gotten in the past. If you want a dose of green tea for it's benefits but have been turned off by the grassy flavor of some varieties, this is a good one - very smooth

This is a great everyday tea. The taste is mellow. Price vs quality is where this tea prevails.

One of My Favorites

Well, between the Pu-Ehr and this Gunpowder Green, it's a tossup as to which one I like better. I had a friend from Taiwan whom I gave a tin of this, and he loved it. He like me, found it hard to decide which we liked the best either. Like I've said in other reviews, I don't pay much attention to the suggested brew times. I poor hot water over the tea in a strainer and leave it in the cup while I drink it. So, I drink from light to very strong and then decide at which point I like it best. It does require several brews, but that just means I get to drink more tea.

As a fan of Gunpoweder Greens, this is a clear winner

The aroma of the Temple green is pleasing and leaves a pleasant lingering scent. The flavor can be sharp is brewed strongly, or mild over ice. In summer, I often brew it in a sun jar for a smooth flavor while camping. It is a real treat served warm from the sun, over ice, or allowed to cool through the night. The sharpness makes it an excellent thirst quencher on a hot day, even from a warm canteen. Without sweetener, you can use it on wilderness campouts without attracting obnoxious critters.
