Build Your Own Tea Gift Basket

The autumn leaves are changing color and falling from the trees. It’s that time of year again when the cold weather creeps in, bringing with it thoughts of warm mugs of tea and holiday shopping.

Not sure what to buy for your loved ones this holiday season? We have a wide selection of gifts for tea drinkers! Follow along with us as we help you build your own tea gift basket with loose leaf tea and accessories.

What to Put in a Tea Gift Basket

As experts of loose leaf tea, we have plenty of gift ideas to share. The themes below are a few of our favorite ideas. If you supply the basket, we will supply the gifts!

The Autumn Bounty Basket

With Thanksgiving around the corner, this gift basket could be a delightful accompaniment to family dinner and a festive farewell to autumn. Pair our daffodil yellow Chatsford teapot with tart Cranberry Black Tea, Pumpkin Spice Chai and our delectable Spiced Maple Pumpkin Butter.

Wrapping recommendation: Accompany with fall goodies and arrange in a rustic basket with an orange bow.

The Jolly Holiday Basket

An assortment of holiday teas to enjoy on a cold night after caroling or having dinner with loved ones, this cozy gift of tea in tins is festive and celebratory. We have an abundance of delicious holiday teas, but some of our favorites packed in tins are this year’s new Figgy Pudding and Pear Holiday Black Tea, the sweet New England Holiday Chai with Vanilla, refreshing Peppermint Organic, and spiced Traditional Masala Chai. We recommend infusing your hot cocoa with tea, too!

Wrapping recommendation: Style the tins in a long, shallow gift box, all 4 in a row. Add red and green gift bows and, if desired, candy canes for decoration.

The Baker’s Assortment Basket

Maybe someone you love enjoys cooking or baking, or just loves food! Make them a preserves sampler. They can spread the jams on baked goods or holiday treats, and enjoy with breakfast on Christmas morning. Of course, we love and recommend our seasonal cranberry spice Holiday Jam, and the Classic Orange Marmalade is a close second with sweet and tart citrus peels. Finish the trio with the delightful Caramelized Fig with Pear & Honey Jam.

Wrapping recommendation: If your gift recipient is a lover of fine cheeses, you could gift these jams with a charcuterie board. Or, arrange the cute little jam jars in a snug mini rope basket for a minimalist look that will match every kitchen.

The Tea and a Good Book Basket

We carry a book called The Great Teas of China, penned by tea master Roy Fong. Book and tea lovers alike will be impressed by a book with teas you can sample while reading. The teas below are featured in the book - purchase both the book and the teas to read and sip along!

Wrapping recommendation: If you have an old, damaged book that you need to recycle, you can incorporate pages as tissue paper for a vintage look.

The Floral Bouquet Basket

People love receiving flowers as a gift; it's a beautiful reminder of how much you care. Whether you create this basket for a dear friend, a gardener in your life, or for your romantic partner, sipping a cup full of flowers is a delightful experience. We recommend the teas made up of whole flowers or petals, such as Chamomile, Rose Hips and Hibiscus. Your loved one can sweeten their teas with our Filtered Wildflower Honey or Filtered Tupelo Honey for an uplifting tea experience.

Wrapping recommendation: Add flowers or floral wrapping paper to tie together the theme.

The Self-Care Basket

Add any of these teas to a self-care package, and it will be a soothing addition. Taking a relaxing moment to sip hot tea is a simple mindfulness practice that most tea drinkers engage in every day! We recommend our bedtime teas like Apple Mint Valerian Herbal Blend, Cinnamon Apple Chamomile Herbal Blend, and Lemongrass Apple Rosemary Herbal Blend for relaxation. Include a set of Pavina Double Wall Glass Bistro Mugs, transparent cups for contemplation of the tea’s liquor.

Wrapping recommendation: These mindful teas would be attractively packed in natural materials, such as a woven basket or a small wooden crate.

The Liquid Gold Tea Basket

This basket is reserved for your favorite tea fanatic. Pair our special Yunnan Gold premium golden tips tea with an Introduction to Fine Tea Sampler, a golden tea caddy such as the Japanese Washi Tin with Gold on Black Flowers or Japanese Washi Tin with Gold on Indigo Waves, our American-made Chatsford Teapot,  and an ornate world map tea cosy.

Wrapping recommendation: This luxurious tea basket would be best accompanied by a classic wicker basket with a gold bow.

How to Build a Gift Basket in 5 Easy Steps

  1. Choose a theme for your gift basket. You have read our suggestions, but we welcome you to get creative! For example, if your loved one once had a memorable trip to Japan, it would be thoughtful to put together a bundle of Japanese tea. Maybe your mother’s favorite tea is Earl Grey, and she would enjoy a personalized sampler. The possibilities are endless!
  2. Choose a container. We will supply the gifts if you supply the basket! It would be fun and festive to choose a basket or box based on your theme.
  3. Select your tea gifts. Each gift will complement the others for a truly impressive array. If you would like assistance, you can chat with us on our website or give us a call at 800-234-8327 (M-F, 9a-5p ET) and we will be happy to help you!
  4. Ship the tea to yourself for assembly. We offer a variety of shipping methods to fit your needs, and to ensure that you receive your tea on time! For domestic orders intended as Christmas gifts, we recommend that you make your purchase by December 10, 2024, so you can assemble your cozy basket.
  5. Once your tea has arrived, it is time to assemble! This is the fun part. Adding accents like tissue paper and bows pulls together the look for the perfect gift for tea lovers!

We hope you enjoyed building a tea gift basket with us. Happy tea drinking, and happy holidays!
