Located in southern India, Nilgiri produces teas similar to those of Ceylon, yet with a distinctive character. This British style Nilgiri loose leaf orange pekoe tea produces a flavorful cup that is excellent with milk.

  • This is a nice mild tea not as astringent as an Assam I find it has a slight spiciness to it. There is also a fruitiness and taste of honey. I will order again from upton I prefer the bop grade it has less caffeine than the more whole leaf grades.

  • This is my first experience with Nilgiri, and it's been a very pleasant one. Brewed for three minutes, it's a comfortable afternoon tea, with the barest hints of malt and smoke. Brewed for five, it has a hefty malt presence. Mixed 1:1 with Assam BOP, and brewed for slightly over five minutes, it's a wake-up cup that slaps you across the face.

  • It's hard to miss the lemony notes that are part of most Nilgiri teas I've tried. This one works with or without milk. It's medium bodied and always pleasant. With tea prices rising so much, this remains a good value. I'm betting it would make a nice iced tea also.

  • I’ve been drinking this tea regularly for a decade and it never gets old. I take it with milk, or sometimes half-and-half; it’s deliciously malty. It seems impossible to over-steep this tea.
