Colombian Breakfast Blend Organic

With its robust character and full mouth feel, this organic black tea selection from Colombia is a great morning eye opener. Notes of sweet milk chocolate predominate in both the aroma and the dark ruby copper cup. Hints of Burgundy and malt provide a lively complement to the rich flavor. A smooth finish completes an exceptional tea experience. A staff favorite.

Vaguely metallic, ultimately unsatisfying
Craig – MA – April 29, 2020

I always wonder how much the packages vary when I see such divergent reviews from my experience. For me, this tea brewed up with a thin flavor profile and vaguely metallic taste. Yes, it's very hard to oversteep--from 3 minutes to 10 the results are discouraging the same. (And, yes, I've tried the recommended 4-5 at 212 most of all).

A New Favorite
Jonathan – MD – March 09, 2020

I have always loved a hearty Assam tea in the morning, and they have been my go to breakfast teas for a long time. This tea is amazingly similar. Elegant, full, sweet(ish), malty, hard to over-steep. I'll be ordering this again.

Exceeded my expectations and then some. ? Colombian tea ?
James – TX – January 12, 2020

I ordered two teas plus 125g of this , to see what Colombia has to offer. I figured if it wasn't any good , I could make iced tea with it . Well , it was the first bag finished . I placed a second order of 250g of the Colombian and again , it seems to be getting most attention. Malty flavor , hard to over-steep , excellent with milk.

Most flavorsome strong organic tea (not chocolate but apricot for some)
Ed – NY – November 10, 2019

One of my favorite strong morning teas ever - just elegant flavor. Like one other comment, I find a fruity/floral note to the black tea aroma and flavor that is close to apricot, the way some are to orange/citrus. I don’t taste chocolate mocha at all. There can be different experiences with this tea! I like a 2.5 min brew - very efficient too.

Tried it on a whim. A nice caramel quality. A change of pace but not complex enough for a go-to

This one really grew on me, especially with a splash of milk!
Jen – UT – November 01, 2019

I love my organic English Breakfast Blend and thought this Columbian blend was just okay, until I added a splash of milk. Wow the milk really makes it taste like hot chocolate...so good and with no sugar at all!!

A delicious and unique tea. I absolutely love it! To me the flavor is of deep!y stewed stone fruit dusted with cacao powder or nibs kind of like jelly-chocolates but without the weird textures. It also re-steeps into a lighter but equally delicious cuppa!

Chocolate yes! Great with milk and a muffin.
Alice – CA – August 29, 2019

Like others mention, this is my first Columbian tea. The dry aroma is like cocoa powder, tea flavor definately chocolately with light-medium tannins. This is a great breakfast tea, the sweet chocolate flavor is enhanced if you have it with a treat like blueberry muffins. Or a splash of milk. Only wish it had a thicker mouth feel.

Great breakfast tea
Scott – IA – August 24, 2019

Surprising full bodied and goes very well with milk and half and half. Easy to brew - 4 minutes steep its good - 8 minute steep because you forgot about it getting ready in the morning - even better. First tea I got my GF to actually prefer over lattes (I don't drink coffee so I can't compare)

My daily cup o' deliciousness.

My favorite! Delicious caffeinated goodness, never bitter, and as a bonus you get to support one of my favorite countries in the world!

Adding to my previous review
Alesia – CA – April 26, 2019

I wanted to add to my previous review, because I noticed others saying this tea has mocha/cocoa flavors. I don't experience this tea that way. For me, the dominant odor (dry) and flavor (brewed) notes are of apricot. I'd be curious to know if some one experiences something completely different again. Either way, a simply astonishingly delicious tea

Best Cup of Tea
Christina – VA – February 18, 2019

Rich and flavorful. One of the best teas I have tasted! This quickly became a family favorite over the holidays!

Way better than expected

I was pleasantly surprised by this tea. I didn’t really care for the Colombian green tea, but this tea is excellent. I like it way better than Indian & Chinese black teas. Brews a beautiful reddish brown. The tannins are much lower than other black teas, while still yielding a very strong cup, which for me is a good thing. Perfect BOP breakfast tea

Edie – VA – December 20, 2018

I knew from the moment I opened the bag this would be an excellent brew. Wonderful flavor notes. A perfect morning blend.

Excellent Black Tea
KM – MD – November 02, 2018

This is a great black tea that has an interesting flavor. As the other reviewers have commented, there is a subtle mocha/dark chocolate flavor that complements the usual black tea flavor. This gets stronger in a second steeping, which this tea handles quite well. If you are looking for something slightly different, I recommend trying this tea.

Glad I tried it
JD – WI – October 30, 2018

This is the first tea from this region I've tried. I love the different flavor profile, the malty flavor of this tea goes really well with milk. Each time I have a cup I am reminded of chocolate, so delicious! Excellent blend, strongly recommended.

Another Astounding Tea from Columbia
Alesia – CA – September 23, 2018

Just as delicious as the Tippy Black from Colombia, but 1/2 the price. I love the, strong, malty/sweet flavor that goes so well with sweetener and milk. I am completely in love with the Colombian black teas: my new favorites. I cannot recommend this tea highly enough. It is even better than my beloved China Yunnan Organic that is no longer offered.
