Attractive and bold, the large, dark brown leaves of this organic offering have a folded, crepey appearance. The medium amber cup has a hint of caramel sweetness, a warm toasty quality, and a gentle pungency that plays at the edge of your palate.

  • What an interesting aroma and flavor!

  • First time trying this, as a sample. Very interesting aroma from the freshly opened pouch, nice dark orange color after adding water, unidentifiable but pleasing aroma as it is steeping, and a flavor which is "peppery" and "something else" I can't identify but which is very pleasant. My first Sri Lankan tea, comparing it to many other samples.
  • The Ceylon I've been looking for

  • Has the fruity, complex overtones that I associate with Ceylons I've tried out and about. I mix mine with a very smooth China Black (also from Upton) for the perfect combination of complex and smooth. Seems to get even better as it cools.
  • Smooth black tea

  • What I really like about this tea is the smoothness. I can brew to a moderately strong flavor and still avoid the harsh bitterness that is present in some teas. I would call this a medium body. I've had stronger body teas, but all of them had that bitterness that hid some of the other flavors I enjoy.

  • good tea, strong interesting flavor. It brewed up strong and medium-dark; I don't know why another review said it brewed up weak but that wasn't what I got. The package says brew for 5 minutes at 212 with a teaspoon+ per 6 oz cup (I used the tea scale since it's wiry). I like it with milk too.
  • Weak tea

  • Produced a very light colored tea with barely any flavor. I even tried steeping double the recommended quantity of tea leaves, brewing as suggested, and still could barely taste tea through the dash of milk I use.

  • A bit cleaner and lighter than many Ceylons, but with plenty of flavor and an appealing smoothness that makes it a wonderful choice to enjoy without milk. An instant favorite.

  • This is not the straightforward brisk cuppa Ceylon that my grandmother used to serve, but rather something more delicate and subtle. Best without milk, it reveals many different sweet and fruity flavors. Lovely for an afternoon tea.
