A tribute to the famous London tea auctions, our Leadenhall Street Breakfast Blend is a blend of two classic British teas: a brisk Ceylon and a thick, malty Assam. The result is a flavorful mixture which lends itself to the addition of milk.

  • I included this in my recent order based on its description and reviews and, wow, I'm in love! Full-bodied and well balanced, very tasty. This tea is one I must now always have in my cupboard; please never drop it from your offerings!

  • I've tried most of the breakfast teas available here, and so far this one and the Scottish Breakfast are my top picks. Unlike some teas, this tea won't leave you wondering where the tea flavor is. You can taste both the Assam and the Ceylon, and they go well together. Doesn’t oversteep.

  • After going through lots of assams on this site, the Leadenhall blend is the one I keep coming back to. Perfect strength and maltiness and flavor profile for the cream & sugar types among us. I've probably gone through a dozen kilos of this over the years now. Other favorites were some Assam CTCs like the Halmari Estate tea here.

  • While I wouldn't rave as much as some other reviewers here, this is a good example of an English Breakfast blend that gives the body and strength needed to drink with milk and sugar. It has a good balance of bright Ceylon and malty Assam. Great with oatmeal.

  • I think this is the best tasting tea I've ever had. I have to be careful with caffeine, but this is so rich and delicious. My whole family loves it. The flavor is the most delicious black tea flavor, never bitter, just perfect!!

  • This is one of my favorite breakfast blends. I brew it strong and add a glug of whole milk. The decent price point makes it a good everyday tea.

  • Absolutely love this tea! I take tea with quite a lot of milk, and my long-time favorite has been Halmari Estate CTC BOP, a very strong, aromatic Assam. But when I tried Leadenhall Street, I found that it has a wonderfully well-rounded flavor that stands up perfectly to milk and is never harsh - so, it's easier to drink all day long.

  • With a strong, crispy attitude, this one is sure not to disappoint. Mind you, it does take some fortitude on one's part to handle; but if that's not an impediment, this tea rewards you with a very good cup you'll order again and again (like me). By far, it is one of the best English Breakfast teas Upton sells.

  • This is a very strong breakfast tea, in just a minute it can hit you right in the throat as you drink it. Perfect for adding milk, perfect to wake yourself up in the morning. Cheap enough for us commoners to drink every morning. What's not to like? I'm sure there are higher quality breakfast teas on this site, but I never didn't enjoy a cup of this

  • About every year or two we order a bunch of samples and do a rigorous side by side testing, and then make our order. But a year in, we are asking "which one are we running out of?" "Which one do we want more of?" "Which one do we want to order a tin for the nieces and nephews?" Leadenhall! It's a rags to riches story.

  • This tea has a wonderful aroma and a fantastic body. It really is great with cream, maybe a touch of honey. I didn't think I liked the breakfast blends, but here I am! I'll be back for this.

  • A wonderfully complex blend that makes a delicious breakfast companion we buy again and again. I now brew it for 3 minutes as recommended. (The first pot I made I over-brewed at 5 minutes, which made it go bitter, tannic, and bullet proof.) We drink ours straight, but it would work well with milk.

  • I like to heavily steep my tea...why? I love to taste the strong flavor, and add heavy cream, and honey! It's a great tea, holds up we'll if I get busy and have to reheat it's still delicious hours after steeping.

  • This is my favorite blend from Upton. A great morning brew. Good complex taste and also has some punch to start my day. The name & flavor do indeed remind me of the old market in London of the same name.

  • Brews into a very bracing morning cup. Stands up well to a dollop of honey and a few splashes of milk.
