Digital Pocket Tea Scale
The tremendous range of leaf styles in loose leaf teas makes measuring by volume imprecise. Our digital pocket tea scale solves this problem in a unique way, by introducing a special 'Cupweight' mode. In this mode, the scale displays the precise number of cups that a portion of tea will yield, based on the industry standard of 2 1/4 grams per 6-ounce cup. Note that this scale will also weigh in grams, ounces and pennyweight (dwt mode). One year limited warranty. Each scale is precisely calibrated at the factory. For those who wish to periodically calibrate their scale according to the instruction manual, we offer a 200g calibration weight (AR45). This top quality Kabuse Sencha is crafted in Kagoshima prefecture, located in the southern part of Kyushu. Processed in the traditional style, the leaves are shaded for the last 2-3 weeks before harvest. The result is a flavorful, brothy cup, with a sweet character and full, clean aftertaste. Produced from the Okumidori cultivar.

Formosa GABA Oolong
Japanese researchers created GABA tea serendipitously in the 1980's. Wanting effective methods to preserve tea, not fully oxidized leaf was exposed to nitrogen. The glutamic acid inherent in tea was transformed to Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid, or GABA for short. This selection is notable for its broad and interesting flavor profile, with notes of mango, peach and guava. The cup has a creamy body with a pronounced, lingering sweetness.

Fukamushi Cha Organic
This organic offering was grown using the Saemidori cultivar in Miyazaki prefecture, located on the island of Kyushu. Both the leaf and cup have a deep, dark green color and heady, rich aroma. The leaves are typical of the Fukamushi (deep steam) style, with both larger and small leaf pieces.

With elevations ranging over 6,000 feet, the Thurbo Estate has been producing premium Darjeeling teas for over a century. In this first flush offering, silver tips decorate attractive leaves in a colorful display of olive greens. A rich toasty aroma introduces an amber-gold cup with an assertive character that enhances its full, lively mouth feel.
