To celebrate our 30th Anniversary, we created a robust breakfast blend of teas from new origins - Colombia, and old origins - India and Sri Lanka. The dark amber liquor is thick and rich with a silky smooth mouth feel and complex flavor. Enjoy this eye-opening cup to start your day or as an afternoon pick-me-up.

  • I really really wanted to like this tea and have a new choice for my breakfast tea rotation. I tried a whole bag, but only once did it hint at any depth. I was expecting more along the direction of the delicious Colombian Breakfast, but it wasn't there, alas. To me, it just tastes like so many other breakfast teas with nothing to distinguish it.

  • I call this my "Enigma" tea because it's so hard for me to pull apart by aroma and taste. Kudos to your tea blender for creating something so hearty and yet so smooth. I especially enjoy that little something approaching, what my taste buds interpret as, cocoa in the gently lingering finish. Equally great with a splash of cream.

  • Chocolaty AND citrusy! I am a Vithanakande addict and found this tea hit many similar receptors.

  • The aroma and flavor of this tea are very good, but I have to agree with Howard that the silty cup is offputting.

  • I've tried other breakfast teas from Upton, but South Street Breakfast Blend is still my favorite way to start the day. It is rich in flavor yet has a very smooth mouth feel. For a consistent experience always carefully measure the amount and temperature of the water, as well as the brew time. It's a somewhat but not totally forgiving blend.
  • Smooth, Flavorful Tea

  • I am so glad I tried this tea. It is at once smooth and robust, as started and there are so many flavors for me: cocoa, caramel...I don’t know what else, but it works. It is a regular for me.

  • The color and taste were quite good. Great strength to start the day. The problem is, the leaves were so fragmented that they were mostly dust and powder. These tea "particles" escaped even the smallest holed strainer i have. The filled cup looked more like a brown "snow globe".

  • With medium depth and some brightness. This is a somewhat elegant tea. Quite versatile, though I especially enjoyed it in the afternoon.

  • This has become one of my favorite breakfast blends along with Mincing Lane. It is certainly rich and complex, just up to the edge of over-steeped at 4 minutes. Dense with flavor but well ballanced. I do add a splash of milk.

  • I bought this tea because I've loved the teas from Colombia I've tried. This is a strong cup of tea - the boldness surprised me a bit on the first pot. I scaled back on the amount on my second pot and it was perfect. I will purchase this again.

  • I wasn't what to expect. "Robust" and "eye-opening" to me can sometimes mean "TANNINS!", of which I am not a fan. Not so here: a smooth lovely cup and luxurious with milk.

  • I tried this tea on a whim. Tea from Columbia paired with tea from India? It is amazingly smooth, bold, and rich tasting. A nice caramel-like flavor with a splash of milk and a little sugar.
  • A wake-me-up tea

  • This is definitely a wake-me-up tea. It is plenty strong at the standard 2.5 grams per cup and 4 minutes steep time even at Denver’s altitude! This one is silky smooth and can take quite a bit of sugar. There is a hint of cocoa.
