Nepal Golden Black Snail

Loosely rolled spiral-shaped leaves yield a dark amber liquor in this unique 2018 black tea offering from Nepal. Semi-sweet cocoa notes predominate in both the aroma and the flavor. Hints of red wine play at the edges of a thick, rich mouth feel, creating a smooth, satisfying cup.

Surprising, satisfying tea
Linda A. – ME – May 03, 2019

I tried Nepalese tea at Dobra Teahouse in Portland, Maine. The owner suggested it when I told her I drink Keemun. I loved it so much I bought a sample of all Upton Nepalese teas! So far this is my favorite. I’m also picking up woodsy notes, and it does feel like there should be smokiness, but it doesn’t linger. Smooth, balanced, flavorful.

A really good cup of tea

I agree with Mac from Wisconsin. Full, hearty and a pleasure to drink.

smooth, full-body yet mild

This is an excellent blend of larger leaf pieces. I don't catch cocoa or red wine, but I do sense a warm, woodsy flavor that lingers pleasantly, then leaves with virtually no other aftertaste. Aroma and flavor are full, but not overpowering. It feels like it should have a hint of smokiness, but it doesn't. Delightful for anytime.
