Our Golden Kenya tea is sold in either bold broken-leaf or whole-leaf, depending upon availability. The cup has full flavor and aroma, with medium body. May be enjoyed plain, but it is strong enough to accommodate a touch of milk. A brisk character with a subtle hint of rose makes this selection especially interesting.
Steeping Suggestions
Leaf Quantity: 2.25 g/6oz cup Steep Time: 3-4 min. Water Temperature: 212 degrees (boiling)
To me this tea has a sweet honey-like nuance, along with a scent that hints faintly of roses. It is full-bodied, but not harsh or bitter, at least not if brewed in the recommended 3-4 minute window. Works well drunk in the British or Indian style with ample milk and sugar.
Just OK

The Kenyan black teas (Kenya Cooperative, Kaimosi, and Golden Kenya) were my favorites some years ago. They disappeared and I was glad to see this one come back. However, it's just OK. I've tried steeping it longer and it still doesn't taste like much. Jean, I'd be curious if you like this tea as much as the 2011 tea you found in your cabinet!

While rummaging through the back of my tea cabinet, I recently found a sample of this tea dated 2011 - almost 7 years ago - and still sealed in its foil packet.
I didn't expect much flavor after all this time, but it is still rich and delicious and I can't wait to taste a fresh lot! Excellent any time, but especially morning.
Exceptional tea

This is my favorite morning tea. It's a very smooth yet full-flavored black tea with out the astringency or maltiness of most breakfast teas. It's definitely worth a try.
