This offering was grown using the Saemidori cultivar in Miyazaki prefecture, located on the island of Kyushu. Both the leaf and cup have a deep, dark green color and heady, rich aroma. The exquisite liquor has sweet, vegetal notes, a brothy mouth feel and pleasing, light astringency. The leaves are typical of the Fukamushi style, with both larger and small leaf pieces.

  • This tea is lovely. It definitely has a fresh, vegetal taste, but there is also a light back note of sweetness to it. I don't really know how to best describe it, but to me the note reminds me of new mown hay with a touch of peach.

  • For many years Upton has served my daily and special events needs. The staff goes out of their way to inform educationally and just fun personal mixing ideas. Organic and clean means so much to me as I have many allergies and sensitivities. I don't know what I would do without!
