Nuxalbari Estate Himalayan English Breakfast Organic

3.5 star average rating
2 Reviews Write a Review
Located in the Dooars region at the southern edge of Darjeeling district, the Nuxalbari Estate is a tea garden dedicated to the safety of Asian elephants and their environments. This organic English Breakfast-style black tea exhibits a fresh aroma with hints of light malt and a whisper of creamy biscuit. The dark amber cup is lively yet smooth, with toasty notes that are complemented by a rich toffee sweetness and malty nuance. The finish is crisp and lingering.

  • Heavy Tannins for an English Breakfast

  • Tannins are heavy in this tea--exceptionally so (at least to my taste) for an English Breakfast, which I tend to expect to be smoother and with minimal 'cottony-mouth' feel. Taste is ok. A little earthy with hints of honey. Disappointed given the price of the tea.

  • Beautiful and complex aroma. Can take milk, but alone it is surprisingly complex and the essential tea oils are fresh. Some black teas I have purchased on this site tastes "stale" to me. I am no tea expert, but this is what I have been looking for in a black tea. And I like that it's organic and elephant friendly - as much as anything can be today
