Produced at a small family tea garden in Shizuoka, Japan, this unique black tea is smoked for 6-8 hours using wood chips from a Japanese cherry wood whisky barrel. With layers of smoke, Burgundy and hints of floral sweetness, the aroma is reminiscent of a warm charcoal fire. Formosa GABA Oolong
Japanese researchers created GABA tea serendipitously in the 1980's. Wanting effective methods to preserve tea, not fully oxidized leaf was exposed to nitrogen. The glutamic acid inherent in tea was transformed to Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid, or GABA for short. This selection is notable for its broad and interesting flavor profile, with notes of mango, peach and guava. The cup has a creamy body with a pronounced, lingering sweetness.

China Jasmine Da Zhang Select Organic

Japanese Matcha Whisk (75 Strands)
Made in Japan, this 75-strand bamboo whisk is ideal for the preparation of Matcha. 4" high, 2 1/2" diameter.

Blue Matcha Bowl
A light blue glaze was finely drizzled over an underglaze of midnight blue to create a cool color harmony on this ceramic Matcha bowl (chawan). Used in the preparation of Cha-no-yu, this traditional bowl has a capacity of approximately 8 ounces and measures 4 ¼ inches wide at the rim by 2 ½ inches deep.

Bulang Mountain Shou Pu-Erh Cake (2016)
With a tea growing history of over 900 years, the Bulang Mountain range of Yunnan province includes some of the most prized Pu-Erh production regions. The aroma reveals a woody/toasty/sweet earthy complexity, complemented by hints of cocoa. The velvety smooth, rounded cup is dark and rich with notes of molasses, chestnut and a hint of spice. The clean finish lingers with nuances of cinnamon and clove. Produced from a large-leaf varietal, this 4 ½ inch diameter round tea cake weighs approximately 95-100 grams and comes packaged in our silver packet.

Da Wu Ye Feng Huang Dan Cong Oolong
This classic Chinese Oolong was grown in the Wudong area of the Phoenix Mountains in Guangdong province. “Da Wu Ye,” meaning “big dark leaf,” refers to the elegantly long, dark green leaves of this most prized of Phoenix Oolong offerings. A gentle roasted aroma introduces the light amber liquor. Pronounced stone fruit notes and hints of honey highlight the rich ambrosial character and full mouth feel of this stellar selection. The finish is smooth and lingering.

China Aged Pu-Erh Celestial Tribute
The quality of leaf and the careful production differentiates this Yunnan Pu-Erh from the common varieties. Still intense and earthy, but smoother and more complex in flavor. A sample is suggested for the uninitiated.

Bulang Mountain Sheng Pu-Erh Cake (2016)
With a tea growing history of over 900 years, the Bulang Mountain range of Yunnan province includes some of the most prized Pu-Erh production regions. In the pale rosy-amber cup, a complex aroma introduces notes of earth and fleeting whispers of fruit and smoke. The flavor is rich with pronounced stone fruit notes of plum and apricot wrapped in honey sweetness, a mouth-filling nectar-like quality. Produced at a small family tea garden in Shizuoka, Japan, this unique black tea is smoked for 6-8 hours using wood chips from an oak whisky barrel. A rich smoky/oak flavor takes center stage in the ruby-amber liquor, and is supported by a rounded fruity sweetness. Mangalam Estate GOF Assam
This finely particled “Golden Orange Fannings” leaf Assam tea produces a dark copper cup with rich flavor and a warm toasty aroma that hints of malt. Yunnan Zi Juan Congou

Jungpana Estate First Flush FTGFOP1 (DJ-9) Darjeeling
First planted at the turn of the 20th century, the south-facing tea slopes of the Jungpana Estate are located in a remote area near Kurseong, where the average elevation is 4,000 feet. This first flush offering displays dark olive leaves that are laced with a fine complement of downy silver tips. A sweet tropical fruit aroma sets the stage for the buttery smooth, amber gold cup. Rich notes of honey and spring flowers are complemented by a refreshing astringency that settles around the edges of the palate. A honey sweetness tempers the crisp, lingering finish.

This top quality Kabuse Sencha is crafted in Kagoshima prefecture, located in the southern part of Kyushu. Produced from the Okumidori cultivar.

China Jasmine
Green tea scented with jasmine flowers, producing a fragrant, delicate tea. Sometimes classified as an Oolong tea, Jasmine teas are technically of the scented Pouchong family of teas.

Yunnan FOP Select

China black tea base with bergamot flavor. Produced for the British market, this tea has less bergamot than some American counterparts.

This selection is handcrafted from a bold-leaf Yunnan varietal. The dry leaves are tightly rolled into a spiral snail shape, dark in color, with golden tip accents. The smooth cup is rich and full-bodied with notes of bittersweet cocoa and carob, as well as the classic Yunnan spice hints.


Ho-ji Cha Kamakura Organic
