Japanese Green Tea
Japan is famous for its unique styles of green tea. Clean, refreshing, and vegetal, these loose leaf Japanese green teas are best infused with water that is below the boiling point, and a brief infusion of no longer than three minutes should be observed to limit the astringency. Of the highest quality, our loose leaf Japanese green tea collection includes a variety of Matcha, Sencha, Gyokuro and Gen-mai Cha teas, both conventional and organic.


Season's Pick Japanese Sencha Organic
A sweet, delicate fragrance introduces this organic Japanese Sencha tea. The yellow-jade cup has a light vegetal character with savory hints of umami. A gentle sweetness complements the clean finish. A great value. This tea is the perfect choice to enjoy with a spoonful of our Wildflower Honey.

Sencha Special Grade Yamato
A superior grade of Sencha, with a brighter flavor and smoother finish than basic Sencha. Highly recommended.


Gyokuro Organic
Limited lots of organic Gyokuro tea are produced each year. This lot has smooth umami notes, a rich cup and a clean, sweet finish. It was grown in Miyazaki prefecture using the Yabukita cultivar. We are happy to offer this tea while our current supply lasts.

Japanese Sencha
Delicate but brisk, this splendid loose leaf sencha green tea has a clean vegetal flavor. Rapidly gaining the recognition it deserves, this Japanese sencha tea refreshes the palate with a hint of sweetness.


Bancha First Grade Organic
First grade Bancha, produced during peak season, is a tea with herbaceous aroma, smooth character, and pale jade liquor. This organic tea has a full mouth feel, bright cup, and clean finish.

Sakura Scented Kukicha
Tiny, pink cherry blossoms peek out from bright green twigs in this unique offering from Japan. The golden yellow liquor is redolent with fragrant floral notes. A light vegetal undertone complements a buttery sweetness in the smooth, refreshing cup.

Ho-ji Cha Kamakura Organic
This roasted, organic tea is produced from first grade, bold-leaf Bancha. The flavorful infusion has a rich character, with complex, toasty notes.


Competition Grade Matcha Organic
This organic competition grade Matcha produces a bright jade-green liquor with a silky smooth mouth feel. The fresh, clean flavor is outstanding, with sweet vegetal notes. Packed in a small, matte silver tin.

Competition Temomi Shincha
Long, thin needles of lustrous dark emerald produce a yellow jade liquor exhibiting a wonderful balance of complex sweet and savory notes. A very sweet, buttery mouth feel complements rich umami notes and a fresh vegetal quality that lingers into the finish.

Gen-mai Cha
Literally, Gen-mai Cha means brown rice tea. Toasted and partially puffed rice is blended with large-leaf Sencha.


Japanese Matcha Gen-mai Cha Organic
Restock available in late Spring!This extraordinary grade of Matcha Gen-mai Cha is seldom seen outside of Japan. The components are of exceptional quality, and produce a harmonious, well-balanced infusion, which is eminently smooth. Toasted rice add a soothing, mellow quality to the complex vegetal flavor.
