Description: This Shincha (First Flush) tea, is harvested on the 88th day after the first day of spring and is manufactured using the traditional "lightly-steamed process." The tea is made from a unique varietal, "Okumidori," known for yielding a very sweet and aromatic cup. The liquor has a pleasant floral note and a mild aroma resembling freshly cut hay.

"When made properly (about 1Tbsp per 4oz serving, 140F water), this tea produces slightly sweet non-bitter liquor expected of decent sencha. Water any warmer produces bitterness. If only 12 ts of tea is used per cup, it will be thin and not so satisfying. Be sure to serve a small piece of sweets (something with no butter or oil is better) with the tea."
"The tea liquor is the most amazing spring green color, with a strong vegetal, seagrass aroma. My first sip filled my mouth with sweetness and an incredibly pronounced vegetal taste of the sea.
