Description: First developed by one of the tea gardens in Shizuoka, this tea has gained high popularity among Japanese tea connoisseurs. The Fukamushi ('Deep-Steam') manufacture requires special processing and a longer steaming. Sweet, rich taste and a thick cup are the result of this extra processing. The tea takes on a broken appearance and is comprised of a mix of fine particles and cut leaf. Fukamushi Sencha is prized for its superior taste rather than for the visual appearance of the leaf.
