"Although this Assam lacks the strong malty character that some have, it is a wonderfully balanced tea, rich in classic tea characteristics and delicious!"

"For those looking for a black tea that isn't too bitter this is a good tea because the hints of caramel swirl with the chocolate flavor into a semi bitter taste"

"I was fairly disappointed in this tea, something that almost never happens to me with Upton. It's not undrinkable, and even makes a pretty good blender, but it's also not up to the standard of previous Season's Pick Assams as a self-drinker. And I didn't detect any of the promised chocolate nuances."

2 out of 5 stars G. Bradford Cabe from Vidalia, GA (United States) (2/11/2014)

"Nothing special. I varied the amount of tea and steeping time trying to get a flavorful cup. Never succeeded just a bitter aftertaste but it may have been an interaction with the local water."

2 out of 5 stars Harriet Levy from Colonie, NY (United States) (1/16/2014)

"Nothing about this tea stood out as better or worse than any average Assam. Certainly wouldn't have been chosen as my Season's Pick, and I've come to expect better choices from Upton's."
