Description: Born out of a Peace Corps project, this MatÚ is produced by small-scale farmers in Paraguay, with attention to ethical working conditions and wages. Using techniques employed for traditional China green tea production, carefully plucked buds from the Ilex paraguariensis (mate) bush are hand-processed to create this unique product. The mildly astringent, mellow infusion has interesting notes of fruit. Note that this selection is the latest production and supply is very limited. Contains caffeine.

"This is quite simply the best yerba mate I have ever tasted. The "white tea of yerba mate". A wonderfully rich flavor. I found that 3 tsp is often required for a strong brew (and I tend to let it steep for closer to 10 minutes). If you like your yerba milder, 1-2 tsp and a steeping of 7-8 minutes will work nicely. All in all, one of my favorites." Jeanette Corlett-Black
