Tea growing in Rwanda started in 1952 and continues to increase in popularity. The high altitudes, hills and condition of the soil provide favorable growing conditions. Tea is one of Rwanda's biggest exports.
This is a versatile tea with notes of cedar and hints of sweet pipe tobacco. Longer steeping yields a robust cup, which many will prefer when paired with a rich dessert. At briefer steepings, the liquor is sweeter and more delicate.
