Akiya Estate FOF Cl.

The finely particled broken leaves are decorated with flecks of golden tips, yielding a dark copper infusion with a rich, malty aroma. The stout "breakfast style" cup is invigorating yet quite smooth, with malty notes and aromatic woody hints. A splash of milk enhances the stone fruit sweetness in the cup, finishing with a nuance of spice.

Lovely strong iced tea
Warner – CO – April 06, 2018

I like strongly brewed tea that I then drink iced. I brew it in a iced team maker. The loose tea gives a better flavor and the Akiya brews up especially well (short steep time) and makes a strong drink I can enjoy all day long. It's best the same day, though.

Very nice, IF you don't use 212F. water.

I second the suggestion of letting the water cool down some for this. I love a gutsy Assam, & actually enjoy a little bitterness in food or drink--heck, I eat Bengali_shukta_ if it's not too fierce. But when I made this as recommended, it was bitter enough to get in the way of flavor. At a lower temp it's lovely--fragrant, rich, and bracing.

Great Morning Cup
Bruce Lewis – MA – November 13, 2017

The Akiya Estate FOF has been my morning tea for quite a while. It's smooth and malty, and has a good amount of caffeine. I brew it with 4 oz of water per gram for 2 minutes. I also wait a few minutes before pouring the water, which brews a smoother cup. 3 minutes will give a heftier less smooth cup. Excellent with milk.
